"Thank You" From Nathan Jobe
November 2011
Fast Lane Fans -
I wanted to take the time to thank you for you generous support of the Fast Lane Fans Scholarship. To be named the recipient of this award is truly a honor. Ever since I was a little kid, I dreamed about swimming for the Golden Gophers. I appreciate the support you all offer to myself and to the entire team, whether it's attending our competitions, providing dinner after meets, or following results while on the road. The team and I are excited for the season, as we are hoping for some great accomplishments at the end of the year. Currently, I am a Senior and going to graduate in May with a degree in Sport Management. My future career goal is to work for the NCAA and give back to future student-athletes. Thanks again for all the enthusiasm you share with the Golden Gopher Swimming and Diving team, and thanks for allowing my dream to come true. I look forward to seeing Fast Lane Fan supporters in the stands at home competitions!

New Site In Progress!
November 2011
As you can see, we are working on a new fast lane fans site! It took a little longer than I had
hoped to get everything up and running and there are still some pages that I have to add. I apologize
if you have tried visiting and couldn't find anything, things should be much better now.

Two Alums meet at Auburn
August, 2011
Rog Hardy ('68) swam in the 2011 masters long course nationals at Auburn University.
Rog said, "Shale can turn to slate faster than I swam, but Sarah Stallkamp ('03) liked my T-shirt, and introduced herself. She was very complimentary of how beautifully the U maintains the aquatic facilities. She should know. She was aquatics director for program/events at the U from 2005 to 2008, and is presently Aquatic Facility Manager at Auburn. She was also the meet director, and it was run flawlessly."
Rog swims at Rice University in Houston.

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I
report that Jean Freemen passed away late last night. She was surrounded by
